School Libraries
"Dosti Kitabon Se" is our flagship education campaign. We set up dedicated, colourful, and child-friendly mini-libraries inside government primary and upper-primary schools in rural and semi-urban clusters. Each library comes equipped with sturdy bookshelves, reading mats, curated literature, and a structured lending register.
Every library receives between 150 to 350+ carefully selected books. These include illustrated folk tales (Panchatantra, Jataka), regional Hindi literature, Indian freedom struggle biographies, science and nature exploration books, and basic constitutional values booklets. Textbooks are strictly avoided in favour of storybooks that cultivate a genuine love for reading.
We evaluate government primary and composite schools based on student enrolment, the absence of an existing functional library, teacher commitment, and administrative willingness to dedicate a secure corner or room for daily reading sessions. The entire setup is provided completely free of cost to the school.
A contribution of ₹6,500 fully establishes a new school library with 150+ books, dedicated display shelving, cataloging registers, and interactive reading material. Alternatively, a monthly gift of ₹251 sponsors reading kits and ongoing storybook updates for a child.
