Government Middle School (GMS) Dighi Kala was established in 1950 and is managed by the Department of Education. The school is located in a rural area of Hajipur block, Vaishali district, Bihar, and has been serving generations of learners for over seven decades.
The school offers education from Grades 1 to 8 and is co-educational, providing an inclusive learning environment for both boys and girls. For many children in surrounding villages, GMS Dighi Kala is their primary space for structured learning, discipline, and personal growth.
While teachers and classrooms have long supported academic development, access to books beyond textbooks remained limited—restricting exposure to reading, imagination, and self-driven learning.
Yet, the desire to learn and explore has always been present among the students.
Under the Dosti Kitabon Se campaign, Shail-Satya Foundation established an SSF Library at GMS Dighi Kala to bring books and joyful learning into a rural school setting.
This library supports students across primary and middle grades, helping them develop reading habits early while strengthening comprehension and confidence as they grow. With access to storybooks and age-appropriate learning materials, children are encouraged to see books as companions—not just academic tools.
For ssf libraries, GMS Dighi Kala represents a powerful truth:
when rural children gain access to books, learning becomes equal and empowering.
Today, the SSF Library serves as a quiet space of curiosity and focus—where young readers discover stories, ideas, and possibilities beyond their classrooms.
As SSF Libraries continue to expand across regions, GMS Dighi Kala stands as a symbol of long-term impact—where a small library creates lasting change for many young lives.
We are committed to transforming lives through education, healthcare, and empowerment. Our vision is a world where everyone has access to education and healthcare.
